What working with MCG actually looks like.

The problem, what we did about it, and how it turned out. Direct references are available for every district we name.

The Lawson Academy, a charter school

Moving a whole school to Google Workspace before the first bell

The problem

Staff and students needed to move off Office 365 and onto Google Workspace, a new Chromebook fleet had to be enrolled, and testing was coming. The school’s on-site IT person handled day-to-day issues but didn’t have a systems background.

What we did
  • Mapped and migrated staff accounts and data
  • Loaded every student into Google and checked each sign-in
  • Enrolled the Chromebook fleet and installed Securly web filtering
  • Set up classroom display panels and wrote quick-reference guides for teachers
How it turned out

Every student was loaded and able to log in. During testing week, we found a workaround that got 20 Chromebooks back into the testing session. Lawson now works with MCG on an ongoing basis for planning, security, and E-rate.

14-campus K–12 district

Districtwide Wi-Fi overhaul with zero instructional downtime

The problem

The district needed a full wireless refresh to support a 1:1 rollout and couldn’t lose a single instructional day.

What we did

Rebuilt the network one campus at a time over consecutive weekends, staged equipment ahead of time, and tested every site before Monday.

Fast-growing suburban district

A help desk that keeps up with enrollment

The problem

Enrollment outgrew a one-technician IT team, and tickets often waited days for an answer.

What we did

Set up a tiered help desk with response times in writing, took over device fleet work, and freed the district’s technologist for bigger projects.

Born to Teach Conference, Houston, July 2024

On-site IT for a teacher conference

Conferences don’t get a second chance at the opening session. Our team ran on-site IT support for Born to Teach in downtown Houston, so presenters could plug in and go.
